Ntinga O.R. Tambo Development Agency is a service utility company established by the O.R. Tambo District Municipality as a Special Purpose Vehicle responsible for spearheading Local Economic Development in the O.R. Tambo district.

Ntinga shall attain her vision through:-

  • Implementation of District Growth and Development Strategy (DGDS) of O.R. Tambo district, focusing on Agriculture, Tourism, Forestry and Mariculture.
  • Mobilisation and leveraging of financial, human and other non-financial resources in pursuance of innovation and best practice including indigenous systems.
  • Institute integrated poverty eradication Programme and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of the people of O.R. Tambo district.
  • Create, support, and encourage promotion of business opportunities, skills development and employment opportunities in the O.R. Tambo District;
  • Sustainable, effective and efficient harnessing of tangible and intangible resources of the region.

Company Mandate

To be the implementing agent of the O.R. Tambo District Municipality's (ORTDM) LED programmes focusing on:-

  • Strategic Infrastructure such as rail dams, electrification, roads (priority surfaced and rural access roads)
  • Agriculture and Food Production
  • Mari culture and Tourism
  • Social Infrastructure ad Services
  • Institutional Building
  • Any other functions delegated to Ntinga by ORTDM in terms of its powers and functions.
